Comments
For some reason when you are pregnant with multiples or have your multiples with you already people love to comment on them. It almost feels like at times that these people wait in stores until they have seen a set of multiples just so their day is complete. The comments begin quickly in your pregnancy and so far they haven't stopped. Here is the top 10:
1. Are they twins?
2. Are they identical?
3. I'm glad it's you and not me! (I personally hate this one)
4. Double trouble
5. You've got your hand's full
6. You must be tired
7. Are they natural? (Is this really a question that strangers should care to know?)
8. Do you want more children?
9. I couldn't do it
10. Do twins run in your family?
My responses to those questions:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. I'm glad it's me and not you also!
4. Double the blessing and the love
5. Yes I do but I love it
6. They sleep 12 hours at night I'm actually pretty well rested!!
7. Yes they are with a look of disdain that they even ask that
8. Yes we do!
9. You probably couldn't
10. No they don't it was just a surprise gift
My favorite answer so far was from a father of triplets who was a pediatrician and was sick of answering whether they were natural or not... his response became "We don't really know how it happened but we were eating a lot of broccoli at the time" Coming up with funny random or vague answers sometimes helps the monotony of these questions and helps you from getting frustrated as you try to quickly run errands and everyone tries to stop you.

A unforgettable moment
There are a few days in our lives that we will never forget the events of, our wedding, maybe funerals, births, etc. For our family one of those days was the first routine appointment at the OB's office when we were 9 weeks pregnant. We went in for a normal appointment and they performed an ultrasound to verify that I was pregnant and that is when for me the memory begins. The ultrasound tech says "Here is your first baby" -- our thoughts quickly go to "first"?? and then she says "here is your second baby". She seemed to think that we had already known about this added blessing, however for us it was a whirlwind moment that I was glad I lying down for and my husband was sitting for. I think a few tears were shed but mostly our hearts beat faster and we spent the rest of the day repeating the words "Twins" and "Two" to each other a thousand times. We learned at this appointment that we were having identical twins and we went home to process everything.
